Privacy Policy

Short version: we don’t collect your personal data. Tidewell is built to work entirely on your device, with no account required.
What we store
Your favourite stations, tide alarm settings and app preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, this data can sync privately across your own Apple devices through Apple’s iCloud — we never see it.
No account, no tracking
There is no sign-up or login. Tidewell does not run advertising or third-party tracking SDKs, and we do not sell data. Anonymous, aggregated analytics may be used to understand crashes and overall app health — never your identity or location history.
Location
If you choose to use “nearest station”, your device location is used on-device to suggest the closest supported tide station. Your device location is never sent to us or stored on any server.
Marine conditions
When you view marine conditions (waves, swell, ocean currents, sea-surface temperature), the app requests them from our self-hosted Open-Meteo instance. That request contains only the published coordinates of the tide station you are viewing — taken from the station list bundled with the app — never your device location, and it carries no account, device or advertising identifier. Tide times themselves are always computed on your device and never require a network request.
Purchases
The Tidewell Pro subscription is processed by Apple and verified using RevenueCat, a subscription/purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives only the information needed to validate a purchase — such as an anonymous, app-generated purchase identifier — never your name, email, or contact details from us.
Children
Tidewell does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above and post the new version at gettidewell.app/privacy.
