No live feed to fail. Tidewell works out every tide from published harmonic constants — the same physics as the official tables, computed right on your phone.
Each tide is the sum of the astronomical constituents for that port — computed on your device with full node corrections, the same method behind official tables.
Harmonic constants come from NOAA and the global TICON dataset, not a generic worldwide model — so a harbour in Portugal is tuned to that harbour.
Predictions are validated against official high and low water to within about ten minutes, and a fraction of a metre, for semidiurnal coasts.
